Rachel Dworkin LCSW
Rachel Dworkin, LCSW is a therapist in private practice currently in Santa Monica and previous to that in Brooklyn, NY. Her passion is working with individuals, couples and families who have been impacted by trauma. Rachel is deeply aware of the need for sensitivity, boundaries, and respect for the healing process and therefore, creates an individualized treatment plan for each client she works with. She believes that each client should be an active participant in creating the best approach to one’s own treatment.
Before going out on her own, Rachel worked at The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services. She began working there in 2002 as a therapist in the mental health clinic, working with adolescents and families struggling with complex trauma, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. During that time, she completed a two year training program in which she focused on the impact of sexual abuse on individuals and families. Rachel became trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and helped countless individuals with PTSD to heal from the impact of trauma. In 2010 she became a clinical supervisor at The Jewish Board with responsibilities including teaching clinical practice to a staff of seven clinicians, and managing their caseloads of an accumulation of over two hundred clients. Rachel left The Jewish Board in June of 2015 to focus exclusively on her private practice. Rachel uses a variety of modalities in her work including EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, TF-CBT, and psychodynamic treatment.
Rachel graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Social Work in 2002. She graduated from University of Michigan in 1999 with a BA in art history.
